The mecha piloted by Shin Kudo, the main character of "Macross Zero," is finally available from the HI-METAL R series! The D-type's characteristic aircraft design and two-seat cockpit has been reproduced with new modeling!
From "Macross Zero," the VF-0D Phoenix piloted by the main character Shin Kudo and his partner Edgar LaSalle will be released in HI-METAL R series! The head design, two-seat cockpit, canard wings, and the primary clipped delta wings have been newly modeled.
HI-METAL R welcomes the VF-0D PHOENIX (SHIN KUDO USE), the variable fighter of the main character of "Macross Zero"

The clipped delta wings that that make up the D-type's characteristic silhouette have been reproduced with new modeling.
Features two pairs of canard wings for high mobility, another notable feature of the D-type, molded above and below the air intake.

An OVA work produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Macross franchise.
A prequel to "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross," it depicts the U.N. Wars and the battle over the "Bird Human," an artifact from the super-ancient Protoculture civilization. This OVA also introduces the series' first full CG mecha. The 3D CG Valkyrie action scene was a pioneer in the field of anime production at a time when digital technology was still in its infancy.
Roy Focker, from "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross," also makes an appearance. Furthermore, Sheryl Nome from "Macross Frontier" is the granddaughter of a character from that same series, and the Vajra are said to be modeled after the Bird Human, making them an important part of the current Macross series narrative.
