The hero of the memorable first installment of the “Space Sheriff” series, Space Sheriff Gavan arrives at CHOGOKIN along with his trusty vehicle, Sybarian! The compact body features shiny plating, and SYBARIAN has a sound gimmick which plays the insert song, “Chase! Gavan” from the seriesbuilt in.
In today's article, we'll introduce our April 22 re-release of CHOGOKIN SPACE SHERIFF GAVAN & SYBARIAN (hereafter referrerd to as "this item"), using photos of the product prototypes, along with related items scheduled to be released in the future. Now that the 40th anniversary has come and gone, let's check out Gavan's Deposition first-hand!

CHOGOKIN SPACE SHERIFF GAVAN & SYBARIAN

This item is a set of both the SPACE SHERIFF GAVAN and SYBARIAN figures in CHOGOKIN format. The package features a bold design comprised of silver, black, and red based on the character designs. There is a window is on the back of the package so you can view the figure's level of detail, making the box great for display from either side!

 

"Space Sheriff Gavan!"

The figure stands at a total height of about 100 mm, and it falls into the smaller category amongst Tamashii brand movable figures. However, with reflective brilliance of his plated, finely detailed combat suit, this GAVAN figure boasts character that far exceeds its actual size.

 

The elbows and knees, as well as the chest, abdomen, and waist can be moved, and the body can be twisted, and the shoulders and hip joints can be moved freely with ball joints.
Now let's take look at Gavan's Deposition process, which takes only 0.05 seconds.

 

SOUL OF CHOGOKIN GX-106 DENSHI SEIJYU DOL & GUILLAN ENBAN!

 

In September 2023, Dolgiran, the super dimensional lightspeed ship that serves as Gavan's base and is equipped with the ability to transfer his combat suit, is released from SOUL OF CHOGOKIN.

*Combat suit transfer is not possible with the actual product.

 

And also, this item includes a gift from Don Horror, the leader of the space crime organization Makuu: a background sheet depicting Makuu Space! With CHOGOKIN, you can reproduce Gavan's epic battle in the demonic space dimension. Danger! Gavan!

 

"Sybarian!"

 

Plunge into Makuu Space with the sidecar SYBARIAN, newly modeled to the same scale as GAVAN!

 

The sidecar's body is equipped with a central slide and Sybarian laser deployment gimmick, and clear parts are used for the tip light. Take note of the detailed three-dimensional mechanics even in this size, such as the SYBARIAN's internal parts visible beside the engine.

 

Now, let's introduce the ingenuity that allows for the reproduction of Gavan's charge into the Makuu dimension:  built-in magnets in the soles of GAVAN's shoes and along SYBARIAN's top surface! The magnetic force enables stable posing. In addition, by using the replacement feet parts, the figure can bend deeply, assuming a more natural forward-leaning pose.

*The magnetic force is strong enough to support the GAVAN figure when standing correctly. Please be careful not let the figure fall or knock it over during play.

 

You can also enjoy riding variations seen in the show, such as riding with GAVAN’s interchangeable hands holding onto Sybarian’s steering wheel, and the standing pose seen from the rear as GAVAN is about enter Makuu Space.
By playing the insert song "Chase! Gavan" with Sybarian's built-in sound gimmick, you can see Gavan fighting on his trusty Sybarian right in front of you!

 

Gavan is dragged into Makuu Space. However, even in figure form, he displays his unrivaled strength with his various armaments and techniques. He comes with the laser blade proof of a space detective, and the handle part has the gold and black two-tone specification seen in the second half of the series.

 

The ray technique that shoots enemies from a distance, the Laser Z Beam, has been reproduced in a state that can be integrated with the dedicated hand parts. Actually, this item is the first product to reproduce Gavan's Laser Z Beam effect!

 

As you can see from the photos so far, the combat suit integrated body can be intuitively posed and has a surprisingly wide range of motion. One of this item’s strongest features is its ability to reproduce sharp actions and stances in the palm of your hand.

Can Gavan protect the peace of the universe from an enemy who is even more powerful in Makuu Space?

 

“DENSHI SEIJYU DOL!”

 

The re-release in September 2023 of SOUL OF CHOGOKIN GX-106 DENSHI SEIJYU DOL & GUILLAN ENBAN (sold separately) is equipped with a gimmick that separates and transforms the DENSHI SEIJYU DOL from the Super Dimensional Lightspeed Ship Dolgiran! The DENSHI SEIJYU DOL has movable limbs, mouth, neck, tail, and both a support stand and dedicated pedestal so it can be displayed side-by-side with the GUILLAN ENBAN or alone.

By combining these two items, you can also reproduce the appearance of the Super Dimensional Lightspeed Ship Dolgiran and Denshi Seijyu Dol! Denshi Seijyu Dol joins SOUL OF CHOGOKIN to back up Gavan!

It's fun to pose GAVAN and DENSHI SEIJYU DOL with a display image like the eye-catching illustration like in the second half of the show. You can try using the previously mentioned more bendable interchangable foot parts in various poses (like the left leg's positioning in the image above). Expand your imagination by arranging the hero figure and his soon-to-be-released support mecha. Let your imagination run wild as you imagine yourself becoming a Space Sheriff!

 

“Laser blade!”

 

"Gavan Dynamic!!"

Included are two types of laser blades with translucent blue material, a head part that reproduces the glowing eyes state, and an open left hand part that can be used to create the explosive technique, “Gavan Dynamic”! With a laser blade that swings down from the top and has a three-dimensional effect, the action is even more powerful.

In this way, you can see that this item condenses the powerful action after the combat suit deposition, chases with Sybarian, entry into Makuu Space, the oscillation of his light-emitting eyes, and the flow to victory with Gavan Dynamic all in one pack.

 

Beyond the 40th anniversary of broadcasting, the space sheriff's new battle begins in 2023!
