HI-METAL R ORGUSS Package

The packaging features an original illustration by Hidetaka Tenjin, a renowned illustrator in the world of SF mechanics, including the "The Super Dimension Fortress MACROSS" series. This is a masterpiece by Tenjin, who is an avowed fan of "ORGUSS". The other side of the window is designed as a homage to the completed toy that was released when the series was aired.

The contents include the main body of ORGUSS (packed in the form of Augeroid), 3 types of replacement wrists on each side, ``missile gun'', ``missile x 4'', ``propulsion booster x 2'' and a dedicated pedestal set. Support parts that fix each form are attached to these.

The pedestal is a large one that supports the strut with a three-pronged part, and it corresponds to each form by replacing the tip joint. Also, the inclination of ORGUSS body can be changed by changing the angle at which the joint is inserted.

Augeroid form

First of all, from the basic form, Ogreloid. Take it out of the package, transform the ankle and give it a missile gun and it will be completed immediately. The unique, organic and rounded form is novel even today.
The white exterior has a slight bluish tint, while the brown interior and limbs have a metallic texture. The main color of the body is reproduced in molded color so that you can enjoy the four transformation ver. A.N.I.M.E. without stress.

What I would like to pay attention to here is the ankle, which is the first touch of deformation. In order to match the shape of each form, it is a drawer type x two-axis movable (see the image above), and it can also be used to simply expand the movable range. Left and right swing is also possible,"Stand in an augroid form and put the soles of your feet on the ground."Such as, poses that are the basis of robot toys can be attached firmly.

Also, let's pay attention to the neck in the augaroid form. The base of the neck slides back and forth due to the deformation described later, but in this form, a large gap cannot be seen when viewed from above. The back of the neck is a mechanism that flips up a plate-shaped part to cover it.
The lid part can be moved freely depending on the pose, so if you prepare a tool such as a toothpick that won't damage the surface, you can easily put it back.

The missile gun on the right hand also has ver. A.N.I.M.E.. yen on the back of the center can be pulled out to increase the height, allowing it to accommodate the different shapes of the attachment bases on the arms and legs. This part can rotate 360 degrees when pulled out, so the direction of the muzzle can be freely adjusted while it is attached.

Transforms from augroid form to tank form

From here, let's introduce the highlights of the threat's 4-stage transformation!

In order to reproduce the 4-step transformation in three dimensions, this item actively incorporates the latest interpretation and the supervision of mechanic designer Kazutaka Miyatake. Since the explanation is in order from the upper left to the upper right of the image, let's experience "ORGUSS revived in 2023".

①The shoulder armor can be moved outward. In addition to avoiding the neck side from rubbing during deformation, it is also useful for expanding the range of motion of the shoulder in the augaroid form.

② When you open the backpack, the "Orgaroid form support parts" (blue part on the upper left) are attached. Each form is fixed from the inside by the hinge deformation of the metal material that corresponds to the base of the shoulder and the fitting of the support part convex and the white part concave.

3. Replace the augroid form support parts with the tank form support parts. The tank-shaped support parts not only support the backpack upright, but also serve as detail improvement parts when viewed from behind.

④ Pull out the knees and bend them forward. This "knee extension" ver. A.N.I.M.E. allows you to bend the knees deeply, creating a lower center of gravity in tank form.

Transforms from tank form to gawalk form

In parallel with the above, transform the head, shoulders, arms, wings, and sides of the legs to complete the tank form. It doesn't appear often in the play, but as a land battle-specialized form, it gives off a unique sense of solidity.
Next, let's look at the transformation from tank form to gerwalk form.

① Bend the hip joint with two built-in hinges at right angles to reproduce the wide foot width peculiar to the gawalk form. Since it is a hard part, let's transform it while checking the movement of the hinge one by one.

② Remove the tank form support parts and extend the shoulder hinges once.

③ When the white cover is opened all the way up, the entire cockpit is lifted in conjunction.

④ The knees are stretched to the middle between the augroid form and the tank form, and are bent to the reverse joint unique to the gerwalk form. The pedestal joint for the gawalk form is a structure that supports the lower part of the cockpit, so when decorating it floating, insert the joint before completing the deformation of the arm.

Let's zoom in on ② here. The black circle is the fulcrum of the hinge, and by bending it into various shapes, the position of the shoulder conforms to each shape. Support parts are not used in Gerwalk form.

Don't miss the wrist storage ver. A.N.I.M.E. without having to replace the parts. The red side of the wrist is the lock for the wrist block. Lifting this part pushes the transformation wrist part into the arm, and returning it to its original position locks it in place.

Fix the arm with the wrist stored in the lower part of the cockpit, bend the upper body backward, and expand the wings horizontally to complete the gawalk form. There are four points under the wing where missiles can be suspended.

The organic cockpit, in which the pilot can be seen from overhead to feet, simultaneously gives the futuristic atmosphere of sci-fi mecha and the practicality of a combat helicopter. Along with Eman's Drift "Moraver", this is a place where the design sense unique to "ORGUSS" shines.

Gerwalk form → transforms into flyer form

Now, let's transform from Gerwalk form to the remaining Flyer form.

① Attach the support parts for the fryer.
② Spread the arm hinge horizontally again.
③ Pull out the convex parts of the bent right arm and left arm, and fix them by engaging them.
④Insert the concave part of both arms into the convex part of the calf.

Here again, enlarge the hinge deformation of the shoulder of ②. We're about to bend the metal hinge into a "Z" shape, so let's carefully bend the fulcrums one by one.

By adjusting the angle of the wing, the flyer form used for long-distance movement is completed. The angle of the wing body and base can be changed freely, and the suspended propulsion booster can be replaced with the aforementioned missile. By the way, the official name of this part "propulsion booster" and the setting to drop after starting was found out after the commercialization of this item.

Toy original variation

As introduced so far"Orgaroid" "Tank" "Gerwalk" "Flyer"This item allows you to reproduce the 4-stage deformation of the by simply replacing the internal support parts. If you transform it correctly, it can be firmly fixed in each form, but you can also play more freely by making full use of the hinges and drawers that make full use of the transformation mechanism of the whole body.

Since there is basically no click movement, the degree of freedom of movement is high, and the play value in the augroid form is surprisingly wide. Toy original play methods such as spreading the wings on the waist and attaching missile guns to the legs are also fun. Let's combine more and more with wrist parts with expressions.

A state in which propulsion boosters and missiles are alternately suspended on a flyer-shaped wing. It's a simple recombination, but combined with the volume of the missile gun, the feeling of heavy armament increases.

If you adjust the middle of the transformation, it can also be in the "Gerwalk with its arms extended" form that appeared in the main story. Furthermore, if you change the angle of the wing and suspension item, you can see a fresh image.
