How did professional shapers at the forefront evaluate each other's figures? And the new future of SIC's new frontier "SUPERIOR IMAGINATIVE COLOSSEUM", which celebrated its 20th anniversary, is the new future of action figures ......?
--- First of all, I would like to ask from the impression after the battle.
Sakamoto:I was really lucky, including the one I was calling this time (laughs). Especially in the case of Pfize, I was able to do it freely because it was a character that had not been commercialized in SIC so far, and I think it would have been fresh for that amount. In that sense, I was really lucky.
KOMA:For us, I think that it was great that Fóze was a character that could be played. Originally I was a mechanical artist, and if this was a bio rider, I might not have been able to play. I think the part saved by the character was quite large in the sense of "mecha rider".
Asai:Speaking of "I was lucky", I don't think there is anyone who has been blessed with luck more than me this time. I didn't know it at all when I got the offer, but as if the timing was right, the Ryuki arc of "KAMEN RIDER ZI-O O" started, and during the voting period, the new work was released on video pass. Even when I searched for "Ryuki" on Twitter, it was all about that topic, and I couldn't find anything about SIC (laughs). Anyway, there are a lot of people who are talking passionately about Ryuki, and in that sense, I think the votes this time are quite a tailwind.
Oyama:When I first got four pictures of the entry work, I thought, "I'm done! What's wrong with me?" (Laughs). Kuuga has been SIC several times so far, but I personally thought that it was good for Kuuga because I was not good at mech-like. I was in fourth place but I was voted more than I thought, so I thought everyone was kind ~ (laughs). I was allowed to give me a lot of freedom regarding the design drawing, and it's funny to put a brake on it from here, so if I was told that I would overdo it, I was told nothing after all, so I said "do too much "I wonder if it's weird?"
-With regard to the number of votes obtained, Kuuga may have been disadvantaged because it has been three-dimensional so many times so far ... How was Ando-san?
Ando:As it was the first time I was rated other than the number sold (laughs), this project itself was fresh. In the past, it was compared with Takeya (Takayuki), and it was sometimes said that "Mecha stuff is Ando", and I still see the reputation on the net, but clearly "I'm good in this It was the first time I stood in such a place.
-As Mr. Asai was saying, the topic of "Ryuki" came in and Arai's Ryuki became exciting, and Taketani-san "it's a friend (if you vote for Mr. Ando) I think it was said that it would be said, and that the users voted after thinking in various ways. The various reasons were felt in each, and it was very interesting as the organizer.
-Looking back on the votes this time, Mr. Ando was strong in Facebook with a relatively high age group, and Arai's Ryuki was very popular in Instagram.
Asai:In the case of Ryuki, it may be because it is known as "KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT" even overseas. In that sense I think I got Ryuki, and the photo with that mirror in the back was cool. In fact, it was Mr. Ando who created that background. Ando-san cut himself and earned Ryuki's score (laughs).
Ando:I was just asked by Mr. Okamoto of BANDAI SPIRITS, "I want to take a picture like this, so please make it" ... (laughs).
Asai:I sent a thank-you email to Mr. Ando immediately after shooting, but when I started to get votes, there were a lot of tweets and comments like "Photo scree" and "Photos are good!" Lol).
Ando:But when I made it according to the order, it was likely to be angry by the photographer Takase (Yuji), so I devised it so that it was easy to shoot there.
Asai:There are a lot of mirrors, but there are plenty of pillars for floating the drag-redder in the air, and the sticks are reflected in the mirrors everywhere. So after shooting, it takes time to fix them.
Ando:I would never want to do it myself (laughs).
Asai:So I thought that I wanted to somehow boost the atmosphere of the place, and during the filming I used to play the "Ryuki" song on BGM (laughs).
――Which part of the actual work you have struggled, including those tragic comers and mothers?
Sakamoto:I'm making it with a strong awareness that if it looks like the main character Gentaro Kisaragi is in it. That's about all I thought about (laughs), but I thought that was the most important thing. I love the work "Fourze", and the reason why I came to like it is that the movement of the actor and the suit actor are linked, and KAMEN RIDER FOURZE = Gentaro Kisaragi can be felt as a single character. is. That's why I wish I could show it like that this time as well.
KOMA:We usually have lots of Gundam-related work, so I would like to put in mechanical fun that I can enjoy when playing with my hands, but in the case of SIC, I do not think about the sense of density or design It was not good, and that area was difficult. The details of the mechanical parts of the arms and legs were also more dense at first, but I kept them in a good place because I could not put too much. With regard to the waist wallet chain, at first, I was trying to attach parts like pipes to the left and right. However, if you do so, the silhouette will be pulled, so it will be decided that only one side will be, and if it is considered as a wallet chain, it will be that a Yankee-like atmosphere also appears.
Sakamoto:The question was, "How do you look like SIC?" You get used to it when you're working, and it looks like it's a regular Fize, though it's supposed to be pretty arranged (laughs). Especially in the condition of the surfacer blow, "Are you okay? SIC?"
Oyama:There is a prototype teacher (laughs).
Sakamoto:Compared to your work, the fear of losing power is amazing.
KOMA:I could not wipe my fear until I applied the color.
Sakamoto:I worked hard while comforting each other (laughs).
Asai:I love "Ryuki", so I thought I'd rather do it myself than give the opportunity to someone else... but what is SIC in the first place? When I thought about it, I thought that SIC is just like Takeya-san and Ando-san. Of course, Mr. Ando, and Mr. Ooyama, have the kind of artistry that you can tell at a glance, "It's Mr. Ooyama's prototype," and I've personally bought the METAL BUILD series for a long time, even for Mr. KOMA and Mr. Sakamoto. There is, and the style is felt clearly. But when it came to my own style, I didn't think of it. As a result, even though I had some quirks, I didn't think I had any strengths that could be called a style, and I couldn't imagine what kind of Ryuki I could make. So I decided to avoid making it intuitively and start over from the point of rebuilding Ryuki in my mind. I thought that I had no choice but to think about the design rules of this world from the parts. So, first of all, I gave priority to parts that I thought were common parts of each rider, but not industrial parts, which I thought were parts of the mirror world. Starting with the design of the thighs, buttocks, belly, and upper arms, I decided on a point that I thought was appropriate for the amount of information for SIC. rice field.
--- Suddenly, a drag grapple?
Asai:I adjusted the head and weapons later to Ryuki, but first I decided on the design of the Drag Rudder, and I wanted to define that the shape of the mirror monster is this, so the figure of Ryuki would be this. The elements of the 13 rider's belt, zippet threads, mechanical parts, etc. are nothing more than a skeleton device created by Shiro Kanzaki to make humans correspond to the mirror world. But the other part was imitating a mirror monster that was transferred to humanoid ...... I cut it off and thought that the theory would hold if the two were combined.
Oyama:In my case, the reason I started modeling was the work of Mr. Takeya and Mr. Ando, and in that sense I've been influenced for a long time, so I thought it would be disadvantageous this time ... But "Judge's comment" As Mr. Takeya said in the above, various people say that even if you are fully conscious of it, you will get rid of it. I'm just imitating it (laughs). That's why I thought that the first rough I submitted would be just right to suppress myself and kill my personality. However, BANDAI SPIRITS told me that I wanted something more like Mr. Oyama, so I tried again while coming up with various ideas. But the work was so much fun that I wanted it myself ... I was saved even though Mr. Takeya said, "It looks fun to make."
-How was Mr. Ando?
Ando:The ghost that got the biggest reaction this time was Yurusen, but actually, that was Goto (Jun)'s idea. As soon as he heard the word "ghost", he started coming up with all sorts of ideas, so I asked him, "Okay then, please let me know" (laughs). And then... I prepared ver. A.N.I.M.E. to switch from Ore Tamashii to Musashi Tamashii, so that when it's blank, you can see the skeleton's face. The main character is a dead person, so it's "Takeru-dono~!" (laughs).

Yoichi Sakamoto(Sakamoto, Yoichi)
Born in Tokyo in 1970.

Maki Asai(Masaaki Asai)
Born in Osaka in 1973.
After his debut in 1990, he became famous in the garage kit industry. Works on a wide range of basic designs not only for design but also for action figures.
Kenji Ando(Andou, Kenji)
Born in Kanagawa in 1963.
After working as a bookstore clerk, he became a prototype designer in 1993. I participated in SIC from the beginning of the series and developed it into a great saga with Takayuki Takeya.
Oyama Ryu(Oyama, Ryu)
Born in 1977 in Osaka.
I studied painting at a college of art, but dropped out. Later he entered his hobby of modeling, and is now active as a creature designer.
