Macross 7
"Listen to my song!" Basara Nekki, lead vocalist of the rock band Fire Bomber, is the "protagonist who doesn't fight." He's voiced by Nobutoshi Canna for spoken lines and Yoshiki Fukuyama when singing, setting a precedent for later characters in the Macross universe, such as Sheryl Nome from "Macross Frontier" and Mikumo Guynemer from "Macross Delta." The series is known for its use of only vocal songs instead of background music for its soundtrack. There are a total of 49 episodes.
