During the One Year War, the Earth Federation Forces secretly developed this Gundam-type mobile suit with the assumption that it would be piloted by a Newtype. It was equipped with Chobam Armor, which was developed as part of the Full Armor Operation. While it was being adjusted in the Side 6 colony, it was attacked by a special unit of the Principality of Zeon.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
The first OVA work in the Gundam Series, and the first work produced by someone other than General Director Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator and parent of "Mobile Suit Gundam." Instead of telling the story from the perspective of a Gundam pilot, it is an ambitious work focused of the opposite side of defeating the Gundams. This story centers on two main characters, young boy Al and Bernie, a recruit of the Principality of Zeon. This pioneering work established the method of telling previously untold stories from subsequent Gundam sagas.
