「ガンポッド」のほか、「中距離空対空ミサイル」と「ミサイルランチャー」といった武装パーツが付属。
D型のもう一つの特徴である高機動用のカナード翼をエアインテーク上下に2対造形。
複座式のコクピットに搭乗した、主人公「工藤シン」と「エドガー・ラサール」の両名を再現。
別売りの「VF-0Sフェニックス(ロイ・フォッカー機)」と同色の専用台座が付属。工藤シン機オリジナルのマーキングが印刷される。

The mecha piloted by Shin Kudo, the main character of "Macross Zero," is finally available from the HI-METAL R series! The D-type's characteristic aircraft design and two-seat cockpit has been reproduced with new modeling!
From "Macross Zero," the VF-0D Phoenix piloted by the main character Shin Kudo and his partner Edgar LaSalle will be released in HI-METAL R series! The head design, two-seat cockpit, canard wings, and the primary clipped delta wings have been newly modeled.
