COM-BATTLER V, the iconic transforming robot anime that premiered in 1976, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone year, a new video has been produced, and SOUL OF CHOGOKIN will also be reborn with a completely new design.
We'll give you a thorough explanation of the two combined forms you can play with – "Combattler V," formed by the combination of five battle machines, and "Combattler V6," which further combines with the new battle machine "Battle Armor" – as well as the meticulous details throughout the entire body, before pre-orders begin on August 3rd (Monday)!

Reborn in the Reiwa era! Our Combattler V!!
2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the start of the broadcast of "COM-BATTLER V"! At the same time, it will also be the 50th anniversary of the release of the "Popinica version Combattler V," which can be called an epoch-making transforming and combining toy.
This lineage was carried on by SOUL OF CHOGOKIN, which includes the "GX-03," the first in the series to feature transformation and combination; the "GX-50," the definitive version incorporating 10 years of evolution; the "DX SOUL OF CHOGOKIN," a higher-end model equipped with sound and light gimmicks; the "GX-90 FA," which omits transformation and combination to focus on action; the "GX-50SP," a commemorative color version released in 2024 to mark the 50th anniversary of CHOGOKIN; and the "Nanbara Connection," a base item for the GX-50, which has been commercialized in the past.
Combattler V has always been at the forefront of the transforming and combining x CHOGOKIN brand. In the latest release commemorating its 50th anniversary, "GX-121," it descends upon the Reiwa era as "Combattler V6," a six-unit combination with a completely new sculpt and new battle machines.

Here is the new battle machine, "Battle Armor"!
The "Combattler V6" after combining with the Battle Armor is an enhanced version of COM-BATTLER V Combattler V."
This item is the first mass-produced version of the V6, and we received checks and advice from Mr. Hasegawa.
With its wings spread, it boasts the largest overall wingspan of all battle machines, and the central "V" located where the wings connect is particularly eye-catching, thanks to the clear yellow color used exclusively in this section.
All five battle machines are newly designed.All five units have been upgraded in size from the GX-50, and the balance is maintained when they are combined into the V6. In addition, each of the six battle machines is made up of alloy material.
The Battle Jet is roughly the same size as the GX-50 version, but it's thicker, giving it a more "robot head"-like silhouette. The blue parts that form the ears and the angle of the antenna have been sharpened to maintain the fighter jet-like sharpness.

The five combined units of Combattler V are then fitted with the disassembled battle armor onto their limbs, chest, and back to complete the transformation. The powered-up form further emphasizes the sharpness of its proportions.
A ring-shaped joint is incorporated into the fusion point between the Battle Tank and Battle Marine, allowing for waist rotation. Forward bending articulation has also been added to the chest, resulting in a significant improvement in articulation compared to the GX-50.
The front skirt is designed to fold upwards to avoid interference when the thighs are raised, making it possible to pose with the legs spread wide like this.
By raising the main wings of the battle armor high into the sky, the super electromagnetic spin also gets more powerful!
The battle armor's frame parts, when attached to the back, become boosters that provide downward thrust, effective during kicks and other maneuvers. The battle armor is assembled with "no leftover parts." This reflects the advice we received from Mr. Hasegawa during prototype checks.
Whether in the fully combined V6 form or the Combattler V form, you can enjoy the aforementioned points of articulation: chest (bending forward), waist (rotating), and hip joints (storing the front skirt).

While retaining the sleek impression from the anime series, the Combattler V figure itself has been updated throughout, including its proportions, details, and the transformation of each machine.
In one example, with the Battle Jet Combine, pressing the tail fin causes the V-shape on the forehead and the mask section to protrude, giving the face a three-dimensional appearance.
Familiar weapons"Twin Lancer"× 2,"Super electromagnetic yo-yo"×2 and"Yo-yo effect parts"Two of the x2 are also included, of course. In previous SOUL OF CHOGOKIN, the elbow joint had to be pulled out and bent deeply to recreate the Grand Dasher. In the GX-121, the double joint allows it to bend more than 90 degrees in the Combattler V state, and the click mechanism securely holds the weapons. This is one of the areas where the specifications from the higher-end DX SOUL OF CHOGOKIN have been incorporated and improved.
The transformation from Combattler V to Grand Dasher also continues.The transforming and combining gripping wrists rotate and can be stored and extended in the forearms, allowing for seamless combination from Battle Crusher to Combattler V without needing to swap parts. Other new features, such as interlocking locks between machines, also contribute to a more user-friendly play experience.
Only Combattler V can surpass Combattler V!
