The ver. A.N.I.M.E. "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series development has begun!
The time has finally arrived for this series, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of its original broadcast, and ver. A.N.I.M.E., which has been accumulating knowledge about movable robot figures in the six years since its inception, to meet! Reproduced using the mechanical depictions from the main story, and making it three-dimensional as well as movable at same time, THE ROBOT SPIRITS <SIDE MS> GAT-X105 STRIKE GUNDAM and AQM/E-X01 AILE STRIKER & EFFECT PARTS SET  simultaneously released on September 23. The product sample photos and comments from the designer (in blue letters) will also be mixed in to give you the whole picture!

*The images shown are of prototypes. The finished product may differ.
*The ROBOT SPIRITS, TAMASHII STAGE, and TAMASHII EFFECT in the images are sold separately.
*In some parts of the text, the "ver. A.N.I.M.E." in the product name has been omitted.

GAT-X105 STRIKE GUNDAM ver. A.N.I.M.E.

Package image of "Strike Gundam" "AILE STRIKER & Effect Parts Set"

This is the packaging for the ver. A.N.I.M.E. STRIKE GUNDAM and the AILE STRIKER & EFFECT PARTS SET. While following the design of the conventional ver. A.N.I.M.E. series, we used the blue from the title of the series as the main color, and the Strike Gundam packaging has a window showing off its face.

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E." Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E."

The white of the body is not a pure white; it has a slight blue-gray hue. The three colors—red, blue, and yellow—are also slightly less saturated, creating an overall calm image. The dark gray used for the joints and exterior base enhances the mechanical feel.
The body is almost fully molded and colored (except for the head and other details), and is thus built with specifications that will allow you to fully enjoy the actions we'll be introducing next.

[ver. A.N.I.M.E. × "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" Action]

3D CAD blueprint image
Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E."

When "SEED" joined the ver. A.N.I.M.E. series, the emphasis was on "new flexibility for 'SEED'," especially with the two major points: "forward flexing of the torso" and "left-right mobility of the shins." As shown in the 3D CAD blueprint (images above), the core of the torso has two joints, in the abdomen and the waist, that allows the abdomen to bend forward in a human-like manner. In addition, you can bend the chest by pulling the upper chest blocks (images below) outward.

Design: In addition to converting the Gundams of "SEED" into ver. A.N.I.M.E. figures this go round, the thing we really focused on with the planners and exterior braintrust was "expressing the flow and flex of the body line that comes from being hand-drawn." We were careful to reproduce the "SEED pose," which is characteristic of the opening title sequence, where its back is arched.

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E."

Furthermore, the mobility mechanisms that have been developed so far in this series have also been implemented in "the neck that folds into the back of the head and faces upward" and "shoulders that can point upwards and forward." By adding new structures to its basic articulation, you can see that the range of "poses you want to make" have expanded as the Mobile Suit designs have evolved.

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E."

In addition, the "mobile shins" are the first-ever gimmick for the ver. A.N.I.M.E. series, and a particularly innovative one at that! By building a mechanism that can move to the left and right from the lower half of the shin (under the gray part of the knee), and combining it with the ankle, we have achieved a three-dimensionalized expression of the smoothly curved lines of its legs.

Designer: At meetings, we brought together various scene captures, and repeatedly discussed the exterior style and movable structure, saying, "It's not like this," and "It's not like that," and in the process we came up with the idea that it could be movable. We settled on the current shape while trying various things such as a ball joint here, or an axial roll there.

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E."

These "forward bending torso with forward facing head," "movable shoulders," and "shins that flexibly bend" features, when combined, make this kind of posing possible! The range of motion is further expanded with the pull-out mechanism of the hip joint and the axial roll. Just like an action figure, you can try moving it from all angles.

In order to allow you to re-experience the excitement of the show, another feature of the ver. A.N.I.M.E. series is that it comes with a wealth of weapons and optional parts. The melee weapon Armor Schneider comes with two replacement parts, one for the sword to be held in the hand, and one for the side skirt to recreate the stowed state.

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E."

The head Vulcan used in the first battle with the GINN reproduces the firing state with effect parts. This is actually the first expression included with a Strike Gundam product. The details mounted on the main body are well made, such as the muzzle also being modeled in its normal state without the effect parts attached.

A beam rifle, anti-beam shield, and effect parts that attach to the back are included. The rifle can be mounted on the lower back, and you can choose your preferred way to attach the shield with the two types of shield joints (image below). From dynamic action to the signature shoulder pose that was often seen on the show, you can freely strike any kind of look you want, rigid or flexible.

A total of 10 hand parts corresponding to each weapon are included (left and right gripping hands for each) . They can be stored in the deck parts just like previous ver. A.N.I.M.E. series figures.

AQM/E-X01 AILE STRIKER & EFFECT PARTS SET ver. A.N.I.M.E.

The list of parts included in the simultaneously released AILE STRIKER & EFFECT PARTS SET is next.
The AILE STRIKER, which one could call the signature equipment of the Strike Gundam, and effect parts that expand the play value all come in one pack.

When attached to the Strike Gundam, its size is dramatically increased! This is the very first in the "SEED" series, but its sense of presence is already top class. These are not just additional parts either, as these come equipped with new mechanisms similar to the Strike Gundam.

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > AILE STRIKER & Effects Part Set ver. A.N.I.M.E."

The parts that go over the shoulders of the Strike Gundam are designed so that each block can be popped out. This is another mechanism unique to the ver. A.N.I.M.E. series.

Designer: The AILE STRIKER & EFFECT PARTS SET, which will be released at the same time, has been devised so that cool poses can be taken without hindering the movement of the shoulders, even with the AILE STRIKER attached. It's a small point, but it's an indispensable gimmick to express the "shoulder entry" necessary for the "SEED" imagery. Please check it out on the real thing.

The AILE STRIKER itself is also constructed like a collection of movable joints. The main wing is a combination of a hinge with opening, closing, and axial movements. The bases of the booster and beam saber handle are ball jointed, and the four booster thrusters can spread out independently of each other.

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > AILE STRIKER & Effects Part Set ver. A.N.I.M.E."

After becoming the AILE STRIKE GUNDAM, its appearance and action has doubled in size! An explosion effect for the shield, a beam effect for rifle, and saber effects (straight/curved) are used to create a more dramatic impression. Enjoy the details of each effect part, such as the sharpness and transparency of the vernier effect, and the smoky texture of the explosion effect.

You can recreate famous scenes from the original anime, such as the "Armor Schneider stance" and the "opening credits rifle pose." Naturally, you can also take advantage of the wide variety of parts and the range of poses to find the "coolest Strike Gundam for you"!

Image "ROBOT SPIRITS < SIDE MS > Strike Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E."

At the beginning of this series, which is also called "the first Gundam of the 21st century," the Strike Gundam was not even able to stand at first. Eventually, it learns how to fight and travels to the battlefield with the Aile Striker. This product is a group of items that allow you to relive the journey of the Strike Gundam, and it is also a Strike Gundam that uses the latest ideas as its starting point.

Gundam comes soaring into the store September 23!
