- What did the two of the leading actors become conscious about playing the role?

Hirata:When I read the script, I knew that our determination and awareness as Ultraman would be a big point in creating new developments toward the second half of the story. However, it was easy to understand by the development and picture making that led to that, and it was assembled in a cool way, so I thought that it depends on how we express it, so I thought that I played it carefully. ..

Koike:Both Katsumi and Isami are real human beings, so we never leave the original character from beginning to end, and as we come back to the second half, we see various changes and growth. Takei:It is very important that you be a family in drawing the growth of the two of you. If this is strangers, it will be necessary to make an event to make friendship when raising something and reconciliation, but when drawing family love it will become another way of drawing.

Koike:At the beginning, the cause was something like "Why are you fighting with this kind of thing?", But in the second half, the cause of fighting is becoming more and more matomo (laughs). After the awareness of Ultraman was born, it seems that they think about the surroundings properly and then disagree on what to do.

Takei:It is controlled in an easy-to-understand manner. At first, it looks like a child's fight, but the perspective gradually changes depending on the accumulation of experiences in each story. Eventually, the two become lubes, and the true Ultraman story begins from there. So are the two here, as well as Rosso and Bull (actors) who are actually wearing suits and taking action. That is the most interesting and interesting part, and I think it is the part that tells the story of the series itself.

- Please tell us the background to the design of Rosso and Bull this time.

Takei:It had already been decided that I was a brother Ultraman, and there were various orders as Tsuburaya Productions, but the most important thing was to differentiate as a character. For example, Rosso had two weapons and one bull, and I wanted to distinguish the colors from red for red and blue for blue. The fact that two bodies fight at the same time in the same picture is a must, so I didn't put in other colors as much as possible so as not to confuse the viewer which one is which.

The body and the unchanged part are silver and black two tone. Even if you change the type change, even if you change the color Silhouette is not touched as possible. Even though usable techniques change, I pursued a design that they keep Rosso and Bull. The way of standing was changed considerably by two people, and I was aware at the first glance that it was possible to distinguish "Rosso" or "Buru".

Regarding the face, we are making a change in delicate parts such as falcons. I especially stuck to the angle of the eyes and how to enter. Originally, I think that it is a bull that is close to Teppan as a design. Rosso has gold under his eyes and daringly brought a ball of change to his older brother. I put the place where I thought that my brother would be closer to the standard if I thought it was normal.

That 's why Bull is simpler, and it' s pretty much scraping down elements from the original design. And the personality is also opposite to ordinary. I carry it all in reverse, reverse, and reverse, so I think that there is interest in it.

- Indeed it seems that my older brother is calm, my brother is a bad character, Rosso tends to get hot and bull is a scholar's skin.

Hirata:Even when transforming, Katsumi remains in Katsumi, the personality is linked, and since the emotions are also connected from before the transformation, I am conscious that the impression will not change there.

Koike:Even if he transforms, he doesn't become a character far from Isami, so even though he is Ultraman, he has a multifaceted human scent, and he can't read ahead of his actions. I think that the part that is not in harmony with the schedule is a good accent, and it is becoming more attractive.

Takei:Before taking a picture, I will explain the intention of the scene, but the synergistic effect between them makes me see one side that is not written on the script. Even for special effects, Iwata Yoshiaki and Okabe Akira who play Rosso and Bull come in various ways (laugh), and dubbing takes extraordinary time. I think that mutual challenge / trade-in between these four people made characters.

Normally, at the time of the first dubbing, I teach Ultraman-like vocalizations and record some Ultraman voices together, but this work does not do it at all. I will process it, but I will use the interaction between the two as it is. It was such a plan from the beginning. I think that created a sense of link before and after the transformation.

Ultraman without Ultraman voice is rare.

Takei:It seems that it is difficult for suit actors to play these guys because the characters are strong including that. Each has its own quirks, and the synergistic effect is getting stronger and stronger. It was said that it was very difficult or difficult to do because it had a taste that only the person could give it (bitter smile). The actors in the shooting suits are similar in type to Mr. Hirata and Mr. Koike, so it's even more so. Of course, the actors on the stage are also watching, researching and acting, but it seems difficult to have a feeling of big brother / younger brother or an atmosphere that is not like Ultraman.

- Will both of you talk to suit actor?

Hirata:Yes, when I was watching the scene of Tokusatsu, I am talking for a while.

Koike:But you do not talk about acting, do you?

Hirata:I talk about how Ultraman has been played so far, but I don't really talk about how Katsumi is doing or Rosso is doing.

Koike:I have not done it either.

Takei:Due to the nature of the series, Ultraman rarely plays that kind of play, but on the contrary, because it is a character that can do things that have not been done until now, it causes a good chemical reaction and it feels like they are doing it while being inspired by each other. You did.

Koike:I feel like I was making a character called Isami Bull with Okabe (Akatsuki). Not only Isami but also Mr. Okabe plays the bull, it makes me feel like I made a character image that will be formed for the first time.

――What kind of character was ULTRAMAN R/B, which was a fusion of Rosso and Bull, set?

Takei:Anyway, these two people talk this year. It is Ultraman who fights while planning a strategy while talking because they are two people. At the other end of the spectrum, when it comes to lubes, I hardly speak. When I really need to speak, I usually swing the camera in the inner space. Still, he says only a very short sentence. I trimmed the lines to the level of Ultraman every year.

Hirata:There is almost no record of dubbing.

Koike:I almost do not talk when I go to the lube. There is also no multiplication.

Takei:There is no need to interact with each other because they are all one and the same. Only after becoming a lube will it be sublimated into an orthodox Ultraman. I think it worked.

- Do you have favorites with type change of Rosso and Bull respectively?
