"DOUBLE DECKER! DOUG & KIRILL" special interview!

■ Satoshi Mikami [role Douglas Billingham (Doug)] × Kohei Amasaki [role Kirill Vrubel]

- Please introduce from the introduction of the role you play.

Tenzaki:Cyrill is "a straight fool". The person himself does not intend to do an idiot, but it reacts too purely to the event before the eyes, and as a result it is seen to be stupid from the surroundings.

Mikami:Travis is stupid too. Feeling that one other fool has increased in SEVEN - O (laugh).

Tenzaki:It is also loved by members of SEVEN - O and has established a friendly relationship with the apartment 's owner' s clan with cheers. So I think that Cyrill is "a fool who is blessed with people" and "a fool not giving a bad impression".

Mikami:Doug is cool, but there are places that have gone missing, it is exactly the "adult" impression. Although I am closely observing, there are some clauses that I do not understand, not knowing what to think. I feel charm with the feeling that such power is missing.

Tenzaki:Cyril is straight as he is thinking and talking with him, but while Doug has the thought he has cultivated through experience so far, he is doing a lot to put it in words. The speech of the Doug and the gap of the mind looked like mysterious.

- Tenzaki-san will be starring for the first time?

Tenzaki:That's right. I also made an announcement that "I am starring for the first time."

Mikami:I am the same. Although it was dubbed overseas dramas and movies, this time is the first time for animated pieces.

Tenzaki:It was pretty much ahead of dubbing as it was my first major work. I thought that "I have to put out something more than my ability as a leading actor other than a play."
But when I recorded the PV before entering the main volume I met with Mr. Mikami, I was relieved from the feeling of security to act as a buddy for well-known people.
And when dubbing actually started, other casts, director of sound, supervisor also helped, and I realized again that at that time animation will be made by everyone. "I thought why I was mind alone" (laugh).

Mikami:Some people are good at pulling the cast as a chairman. I think that I will do my best a little, but it is quite difficult.

Tenzaki:The other site seemed to be pulling the chair, but when it became my turn, it was the impression that the chair is supported by the surroundings. It is a feeling that "I am letting you be the chairperson."

- The feeling that is being helped by the surroundings does not suffer the image of Cyril and yourself playing?

Mikami:From around it is said to be "cyrillic". Professor Kei said that he was "as it is" (laugh).

Tenzaki:I do not feel like I suffered so much (laugh).
But if you say so, it may be so. If you ask Cyrillic himself, I think that "I am absolutely different!"

- Will not Mr. Mikami superimpose on himself or herself in the sense of being a veteran with Rookie?

Mikami:I started working for a voice actor so it was late, so I am planning to be a newcomer inside myself. Well I have to say age (laugh). That's why I feel like I'm gonna work hard together without being conscious of the difference of the year.

- What are the two people conscious of in acting?

Tenzaki:I try to read the air to draw the feelings of the other party, but in Cyrillic there is no such idea at all.
So when I played there was something to point out "Today's Cyrill is too much thought" or "too thoughtful". In order to remember the words at any time, I wrote "Kirill loves stupid" on the page of my script 's line of scripts (lol). Because I thought it was something I should not forget to play Cyrillic.

Mikami:For example, you know that the end is a sad ending, you talk with a play you know. Acting without reading the air is difficult.

Tenzaki:Although it seems to be easier to play as a role without back and forth, that is difficult with that and requires adjustment.

Mikami:Doug is hard because you have to think about meaning that you do not understand by dialog. Imagine a thought not in speech, put it on a line, change the mind if it is told that "it is different" and redo the performance.
So at the beginning I acted thinking that Derrick had died. Then I was surprised to be alive (laugh).
However, if you know that you are alive, you may have become an explanatory way of speaking.

Tenzaki:It's such a surprising development. Besides, I am surprised by the development of "let me think so and turn it over again".

Mikami:So it is interesting to review again from the beginning after seeing it to the last round. We were also looking forward to receiving a script.

Tenzaki:I was looking forward (laugh).

Mikami:The next notice also imagines the contents to some extent, but it is difficult to imagine in the situation without the next script.

Tenzaki:Besides, it is not an ordinary foretail, so it's more difficult than you (laugh).

Mikami:Then it will be "Derrick came back". I was really surprised (laugh).

- Is not it hard for Tsukkomi to play Cyrillic role?

Tenzaki:It is hard to change the nuance rather than tough. Since I thrust by Max every time, it is a challenge to further adjust the raising and lowering.

Mikami:Tsukkomi is easy to become a monster.

Tenzaki:Since I am from Osaka, I was worried about "Why can not I thrust it well, why I am growing up seeing a new comedy?" (Laugh). But as Cyrill scratches, the story goes forward, so I thought it was a very worthwhile role.

- Please tell me the impressions of each other.

Mikami:Tenzaki is truly straight and cute. I think that I absolutely resemble Cyrillic, but I am never stupid (lol).
It was impressive to record while moving the body in the studio.

Tenzaki:Mr. Mikami said earlier that he is "doing as a newcomer", but in fact he respects his junior. While respecting and respecting it, he taught that "This part might be better for this part," or "There is such a way of doing it", every time I felt like I felt as if the distance was approaching within me .

- Do you have favorite characters other than your own role?

Mikami:Diana is flying a lot and I like it. I am also active in drama CD. Another Mack is surprisingly female high and is interesting.

Tenzaki:I like Travis. That looks like Cyrill and the same level is interesting, and even in the latter broadcast times his ludicrous part will be demonstrated. It is a person who scratches a good feeling (laugh). Sophie is also good.

Mikami:It feels good to have that tongue. Aya Endo who is performing is worried about "I would do it if I think that my bad tongue is bad," but that is talking in action without lingering. Such natural tongue shortage seemed to be hard, and every time saying "It is difficult to deepen the depth of tongue". Derrick was also a nice guy.

Tenzaki:It was an interesting character. I thought that it was a man who was combining Doug and a combination as expected.

Mikami:On the job site I was told I was the ideal marriage partner. Derrick seems to be a good dad.
But I think Doug is not good (laugh).

--So, what are your thoughts now that you've seen the newly released Figuarts ZERO?

Mikami:Doug is a wonderful reproduction of hair. Because I heard that it is a difficult design to draw with animation.

Tenzaki:It is fine. It is terrible that the waist holster and the fine part are not one piece and it is properly becoming different parts. What is wrong with the clothes is real like it? I was touched that the hem was not made thick and made thin.

TAMASHII NATIONS products are for people over 15 years old, the standards are different from ordinary figures. That's why you can make small parts.

Mikami:The color of the coat is also good. A glittering feeling is coming out firmly.

Tenzaki:My face is too fine. It is terrific that the revolver is properly painted.

――Are there any item you want in this series?

Mikami:I want another buddy at this completion degree. It would be interesting to arrange 6 people and reproduce the endings (laugh).

Tenzaki:To do so we have to make it movable.

Mikami:At the end of that ending, Doug is going backwards. Tamura I heard that producers "have something meaningful"? "I do not have any meaning" (laugh).

Tenzaki:I thought that it means "you can trust your back" (laugh).
And it would be fun if there was a car of the scale or SEVEN - O room.

Mikami:You can play bases (laugh).

Tenzaki:Since Cyril who was wearing a policeman 's uniform was cute, I want him to show up with a movable figure. There are machines on which the rear dogs are attached to the waist. I am going to shoot medicine according to the users of ANTHEM, but I want them to be made with feeling like a transformation belt.

Mikami:I have to practice to catch protruding bullets. I guess I will lose it unless you attach some spares. (Laugh).

- Then please give us a message from the two of you including program promotion.

Mikami:"DOUBLE DECKER! Doug & Kirill is a cool anime, but it also has comedy, so it's an anime with a good balance between serious and gag. And the music is good and there are various elements. Still, it is a work that can be comfortably seen.

Tenzaki:There is a small tribute everywhere, it is a hint of late after thinking whether it is a silly scene, it is a work whose truth is not really understood. Also, since most episodes are complete one episode, I think that you can absolutely enjoy it even if you missed one episode or someone who came in from the way. Please see it!

■ Masakazu Katsura 【Main Character Design】 × Kazuhiko Tamura 【Producer】

- First of all, please let us know how you participated in this work.

KatsuraNext time it was around 2014 that I wanted to do a detective thing.

Tamura:Originally I made a story with a police story with a drama CD of the previous work. At that time, it is a project that started with saying that it would be nice to be able to do original criminal things with Mr. Matsui Bandai and the screenwriter.

KatsuraAt that time, I had not decided the director yet, but I proposed "I want to be full of girls this time". As the first image of my selfish character, the two leading characters are quite hard boiled feeling, but if I was assigned to a department that was full of girls, I think that gaps will be born and it will be fun and I can also appeal to male fans When.
Well, at that time, I did not have much sense of responsibility and it was about "Is not it interesting?" It was about, but Mr. Tamura and Screenplay Suzuki (Tomoaki) also accepted "let's go with it" is not it?

Tamura:Well, it was the first thing that was said "with ladies".

KatsuraThe first thing I painted was Diana's prototype, I was recalled to call it where Suzuki-san and Furuta (Kohji) had been talking to "What kind of character do you want" to talk about, painted and drawn.
Personally I thought that I wanted to go with a deformed character at first, but since the director said that "I want to be on the real side with a steam punk-like image," while respecting that.
At that time, Doug was scheduled to be the main character, and the director told me to have a natural perm, but the main characters in Sunrise anime, such as Gundam, Ideon, and Cowboy Bebop, have a lot of hair. , That's the only thing that comes to mind (laughs).

- It is certainly likely to raise the Tenpa rate (laugh).

KatsuraSo, it may not seem like a heaven par with it, but I tried making it bouncing pin pointing casually. It is natural, but the nuances around it have been reproduced as chitin even in 3D modeling.
Meanwhile, Cyril said, "I thought that neutral boys would be nice", so I drew consciously there.

Tamura:Where the setting was decided to some extent, it was original, so there was a need to create a proposal to proceed. I talked about that story as a teacher and I drew it from quite early time.

KatsuraDoug and Cyrillic, and four prototypes including Dina and Kay. The first proposal using that rough 4 does not go through, and it is said that "I want a bit more visual" when it is issued for the second time, increasing my picture with art setting and so on.

Tamura:As it is still original, it was hard to convey and I had no choice but to pull it with a picture.

KatsuraNearly anything is decided only by information that "This is a criminal stuff, this kind of picture" (laugh). That's why I also wanted to name my name as a planner.

- Since it is 2015 at the stage of the project plan, the preparation has really started quite a while ago.

Tamura:It took quite a while, we had done scenario regularly from quite a while and the scenario itself is completed in 2017 completely.

KatsuraI was also letting you participate in the conference and screenwriting conference. Even though it is not my job (laugh). I was called to the conference and I was looking at the stage of solidification.

- Is it normal for character designers to participate in such meetings?

KatsuraI think that it is quite rare (lol). If it is normal, first prepare the one settled at the meeting and throw the character designer "I need your help with this setting", but I do not do it for some reason.

Tamura:However, those who participated are also easy to grasp the communication and progress of intention, and I was asking for participation from the beginning because I would be able to give Professor Katsura's opinion. There is a way of thinking of each of the main staffs, and it would be better if they were to meet directly at the earliest possible stage.

KatsuraAfter all it is too gentle. There is a place to make everyone's opinion and there is a spirit to call me down and drop it at a good landing point.

Tamura:Well, it may be (laugh).

KatsuraWhere people are convincing and trying to shape it ...... Warmly speaking, it is a warm person, but I do not like to stand between, but there may be places like that (laugh).

Tamura:No, it will not be calculated to that extent. After all, since animation is going to be made by everyone, I want to do so.

- I think that the number and character of the main character gradually settled in such a trend, but what kind of feeling was each orderer's order like?

Tamura:At first I handed over the memo level setting with sentences. The image color of that character and a really simple explanation such as "such a personality" are to some extent.
After that I feel like I made scenarios in parallel and shared it while sharing it.

- How did you decide about the image color of each character?

Tamura:Doug was at the beginning stage, there was a plan to make it red with the image of a British detective.

KatsuraI remember Doug's "red", but I do not think the image color of Cyrill was initially decided.
Doug was originally treated as a hero, so it is red, and Kirilli seems to have been somewhat different color, but there is a guy who painted my hair thinly with the rough I painted, "I'm going to make it purple" Like it. Certainly, I wonder if Vrubeli was named after that?

Tamura:Looking at Professor Katsura 's paintings, the part that I made the image color and codename and so on was also great.

KatsuraAs for the character, since I was drawn in advance by myself from within almost undecided.

Tamura:You have that hard work. I only know the teacher.

- Did you draw a rough design without knowing what episodes are being prepared?

KatsuraBasically it is. I knew roughly about the character because I was at the meeting for the time being, and later I got sent plots etc.

Tamura:Thanks to the teacher 's preceding drawing, I was able to reflect on the atmosphere of painting and also to casting etc.

Katsura"I'd like to have variations of facial expressions" and I drew various things, but as for Doug, I was told by Mr. Suzuki's image that "poor emotion and pleasure is poker face", so I draw most variations I am not.
It was unexpected that Cyrill would be stupid so much (laugh).

Tamura:Cyrillic became pretty and I think that the gap with Doug was born and it became an interesting character.

KatsuraAt first it was supposed to be "neutral", but that's what it was.
I think that there is Suzuki's achievement.

- So, after watching the story, was there a surprise that "Does it become such a character!?"

KatsuraWell, in fact, I draw it without much knowledge, so I watched the on air and I thought "Oh, how come this is funny" (laugh).
I do not read materials much because I can freely express my thoughts with infinitely arbitrarily inflicted within me, because there are also things I can enjoy when I do not know much about it (laugh) .

Tamura:When it was dubbing, I said "It was such a character!"

KatsuraYes, I do not know very well (laugh).

- How did you do the catch ball with Professor Kei in solidifying the design?

KatsuraThere is no catch ball. Because it is roughly rough.

Tamura:I'm sorry (laugh).

KatsuraWhen the character started to solidify to a certain extent, I decided to "add elements of steampunk", but Dina is an image of the '60s and 70s, and Kei is a newcomer, so it looks like a fresh female detective, It doesn't become steampunk as it is.
So, I think that it was supposed to put a shield coat dressed in Doug and Cyrill into everyone and to put out a steam punk style ... ... so my work has increased.

Tamura:Oh yeah, it's hard work.

- When I actually watched anime, I was surprised that Mr. Katsura's character design was faithfully reproduced.

Tamura:Everyone in the staff seems so, but everyone is serious anyway.
In particular, Itagaki (Tokuhiro) of animation character design is tremendously conscious of reproducing Mr. Katsura's picture. So I think that it seems like that.

- As well as the degree of reproduction of the main character, of course, it seems that Mr. Itagaki is drawn according to Mr. Katsura's design. How about watching the finish again?

KatsuraI feel a lot of sincerity towards my design. I am satisfied with the great quality, it is inconvenient and it can not be helped. I thought that foreigner characters might be better than I draw. Even if I am a landlord or a derrick, I was perfect for the world view, and I thought that neighborhood is fluffy. Especially the owner may be a type of character that does not come out of me.

- From the producer side to the drawing side, do not give detailed instructions?

Tamura:The staff is working voluntarily there. That is why I really respected it because I am finished with that quality.

KatsuraAs an animation participating in Charadesa, sometimes I thought "My picture is not a picture" as soon as Mobukara comes out, but there is not such a gap.

Tamura:The main character whose teacher was drawn is a pillar, and it is the feeling that Mobukara and everyone enjoyed drawing.

- I was surprised that the 3D model of each character appearing in the ending was also very good.

Tamura:That is why everything works for every part, such as those who make faces and people who make clothes, but I'm working on it all the way, but I'd like to take a character with a lot of lines to a place almost comparable to an animated picture, Including it, it is taking considerable time.

- Of course, are they also supervised by Mr. Katsura?

KatsuraI agree. CG is also pretty good modeling, but I corrected the part "obviously funny?"

- I can feel the criminal drama of Showa in my style, but was the area conscious?

Tamura:Although the world view of the story is an image like England, everyone planning members thought about adopting various drama elements and atmosphere as tribute from the beginning.

- At the beginning of 3 talks, variations of guns used by members of SEVEN - O were introduced, but I think that commitment to guns is also the point of this work.

KatsuraThe customizable gun used by members of SEVEN - O is the latest type, which is designed by Ando (Kenji), but because it was setting that Doug is old - fashioned and like the old one, his gun is I designed it.
With the setting that customized to the standard gun, the site is on the front and the rear, the built-in laser point is attached under the muzzle, and the tactical light can be set, but .... I gave it a lot and I want you to make more use in the play.

Tamura:It is a work that is packed with a lot of detailed settings, but I can not make it quite useful if the scale is not enough ... ....

--Speaking of unique guns, Figuarts ZERO series is currently taking pre-orders, but could you tell us about any other related item that you two would like to have?

KatsuraAfter all I want you to put out a movable figure. I also drew police mascot characters (Torishimaru-kun and Mamoru-kun), so I'd be happy if there was a ASTRA for that. With a size that can be attached to a smartphone.

Tamura:Do you specify size up to (laugh).

KatsuraBesides, I would like to arrange the movable figure as a guy wearing a shield coat.

- Recently, figures expressing cloaks using cloth are increasing, so it is nice if the coat flutters properly.

KatsuraBy all means, I hope for that (laugh).

Tamura:I also want a movable figure, but I hope that if you can, I would like a 1/6 size.

KatsuraIt's a cool work and I can not expect it.

Tamura:Well ... I do not listen to such selfishness, right?

KatsuraOh well, you'd better tell me what you want.

Tamura:I want it (laugh)!

KatsuraAfter all, it is a model gun. I stuck to details so much that I painted, so I hope it will be useful in model guns.

Tamura:"DOUBLE DECKER! Doug & Kirill" has very cool mechanics such as police cars and motorcycles, so I want a plastic model there.

KatsuraWell, it's not my design (laugh). But I will deform that car and I know that I want this on the Plamo!

- Finally, in order to enjoy the latter half of the story of the future, please also ask a message to the fans.

Tamura:I am aiming for pure entertainment, so if you do not think about anything and watch and laugh and have fun, that is most appreciated.

KatsuraIt is a work that I am sticking to since it is also sticking to parts that are not drawn or parts that I do not notice, so I'd like you to enjoy pausing while checking.
