Sustainability of TAMASHII NATIONS
The Bandai Namco Group's sustainability policy is to promote sustainable activities in response to social issues that the Bandai Namco Group faces together with fans under IP-centered strategies.
This policy will introduce sustainable activities based on policies unique to TAMASHII NATIONS that will also deepen our ties with our customers and fans.
The sustainable efforts ofTAMASHII NATIONS come together in GUNDAM -EARTH COLOR-!
THE ROBOT SPIRITS <SIDE MS> RX-78-2 GUNDAM ver. A.N.I.M.E. -EARTH COLOR-, which incorporates various elements of the sustainable activities that TAMASHII NATIONS has introduced and verified to date, is available at select stores starting April 2025.
To commemorate Gundam's 45th anniversary, this special design featuring coloring and markinging with an earthy motif has been brought to life through environmentally friendly manufacturing.
This marks the first time TAMASHII NATIONS has used bionaphtha-derived plant-based plastic for the ABS parts of the main body. Water-pased paints have been used for coloring.
In addition, the use of NISLIME (registered trademark / developed by Shenzhen Nissho Electronic Plastics Co., Ltd.) blister trays and water-based coating finish on packaging make this an environmentally friendly product.
Reduction of plastic consumption of blister packaging using limestone-derived material
As part of our sustainable activities, we have developed a reduced-plastic resin material comprised of 51% or more limestone. We used this material, NISLIME (registered trademark / developed by Shenzhen Nissho Electronic Plastics Co., Ltd.) is used as the material for blister trays, which are product packaging materials. We will continue to promote the reduction of plastic usage.
Beginning with S.H.Figuarts (SHINKOCCHOU SEIHOU) MASKED RIDER FAIZ, representative of one of the premier brands developed by TAMASHII NATIONS, we plan to continue to experiment using NISLIME in our blister trays and implement their use with other products as well.

S.H.Figuarts (SHINKOCCHOU SEIHOU) MASKED RIDER FAIZ was selected to be the first TAMASHII NATION product to use the NISLIME technology for the blister packaging. Compared to conventional PET blisters, it has a subdued, matte texture, and comparable flexibility and strength, making it suitable for use in product series that use white or other colors of blister packaging.
Reduction of packaging materials
via figure package optimization
For some figure products, we are working to reduce the amount of paper required for instruction manuals by printing the handling instructions directly on the packaging. In addition, we have reduced the amount of paper used by printing the design of the backing paper for the figure inside the package directly on the packaging.
Instructions for use printed directly on the packaging.
Producs with the background design printed directly on the box, omitting the use of backing paper.
Substituting a water-based coating for processed
printed surfaces can reduce plastic usage
Concerning matte processing of product packaging surfaces, we can reduce the use of plastic by eliminating the use of PP sheets by substituting PP sheet coating for water-based coating.
Additionally, it holds up against scrapes and scratches, and shows promise in eliminating the use of thin packing paper used for protection during shipping.
One characteristic of water-based coating is a slightly rough surface texture.
