Product Planning (Robots)
Introducing a day in the life!
New Graduate Recruitment3rd year at the company
Ever since his school days, he has loved robots in general and has often played with plastic models, and applied for the job because he wanted to be the one making Gundam toys.
Job satisfaction
When I see a lot of pre-orders for the products I've planned, or when they become a hot topic on social media, I feel a sense of accomplishment as I realize that I'm playing a part in helping to create excitement for a work I love!
-
On the train to work, I watch my favorite robot anime or check the latest information on robot figures on social media. It's a lot of fun because my hobbies can sometimes be connected to my work.
-
9:30Check emails and tasks
As soon as I arrive at the office, I check any emails I have received from the copyright holder and the sculptor. I also use this time to organize my tasks for the day and decide my schedule.
-
10:30Confirmation of specifications for prototype and color sample
We check the prototype and color samples of the planned product against the setting materials, setting drawings, scenes from the movie, etc., and consider the product specifications. Depending on the scene in the movie, the color and shape of the video we use as reference may look different, so we make adjustments while looking at multiple cuts.

Diet meals are popular in my team, so I buy healthy bento lunches at a bento shop. I eat my bento lunches with my seniors in the break room!
-
14:00Meeting with the production company
Meeting with the person in charge of the mechanical design of the work. By listening to what they have to say during the meeting, I can understand the intention of the mechanical design and incorporate it into the specifications of the product I am planning. I also ask them to check the color scheme, details, overall texture, and other aspects that could not be understood from the 2D design drawings alone. Having the creator of the machine check it directly helps refine the design of the figure.
-
16:00Check the work of your juniors
I review materials created by junior members of the team who are in charge of education under the "Brother Sister System" and give advice on project proposals. By teaching my juniors, I also deepen my own understanding, so we grow together!
-
16:30Factory sample check
We check the factory samples we receive by touching them. We check the samples while imagining what they will look like when they arrive in the customer's hands, checking whether the color scheme is correct, whether they have the expected movement capabilities, etc.
-
17:30Planning materials creation
Our company culture encourages employees who take on new challenges, so when I have free time, I create planning materials based on ideas I get from gathering information on a daily basis. I also consult with other members of my department about any issues I have, such as product specifications, price, or release timing.
-
18:30Check emails and organize tasks
Before leaving work, I check my email to make sure I haven't missed anything, and I also check my tasks for the next day.
-
Today I'm going to a dinner party with my colleagues near the office! It's been three years since I joined the company, and the more time goes by, the closer we get!
