The comic series has sold a total of 72 million copies, and the live-action movie has a cumulative box office revenue of 19.3 billion yen, a legendary masterpiece Rurouni Kenshin is supported by people all over the world and of all generations.
The original work by Nobuhiro Watsuki began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1994, and was made into a TV anime for the first time in 1996. Since then, the series has undergone numerous developments including Rurouni Kenshin and feature films, and is currently being serialized on Jump SQ.
