GOD MARS

A 64-episode TV animation series that aired on Nippon Television from October 1981 to December 1982. It depicts the grand fate of Takeru Myojin, a psychic boy who controls the Six God Robots hidden in six places around the world. Based on the science fiction comic Mars by Mitsuteru Yokoyama, the characters were significantly altered for the TV anime project. The CHOGOKIN version of Godmars, the giant robot made up of all six God Robots combined, became a huge item. While the toy was popular with boys, the drama and beautiful characters earned the series fans from female anime fans as well. Fans made a petition which led to the release of a film in December 1982.
