If you hold it, you'll understand that it is indeed a "CHOGOKIN" brand product!
It's made of die-cast parts so it's pretty heavy!
I like Hello Kitty, but I have little experience with item, which is branded as "CHOGOKIN". I thought the design was cute, with a mechanical feel but clearly recognizable as a kitty!

It looks to be a size that can be easily wrapped around in both hands of a woman.
When you touch it, it feels smooth and cool all over!

Hello Kitty wears many different clothes, but this Hello Kitty wears a striking yellow shirt and blue overalls, which I'm sure many people are familiar with. I've been watching it since I was a child!

So, first let's take a look at the instruction manual and try it out!
The steps are numbered so it's easy to follow! I appreciate it!

The "CHOGOKIN Series" is a brand that features gimmicks that correspond to each character.
This Hello Kitty has a transformation and launch gimmick!
Wow! Just by transforming, it can "underwater, run, and fly"3There's always a mode to enjoy!

[Driving mode]
3This was the easiest transformation out of the three modes!

3It's easy to transform into "running mode" in just one easy step! It'll be in the same pose as the minifigure next to it!

In fact, until I read the instruction manual, I thought that the standing position meant "driving mode," so I didn't expect to see it driving while sitting...!

It has wheels on its feet and tail so it can move back and forth!

[Underwater mode]
Next, I want to transform it into underwater mode!
First, set your eyes to "sparkle mode" (yellow)!
There are also "Normal Mode" and "Furious Mode".3It is possible to change the expression to a different species.

To change the eyes, first pull the protrusion behind the ear to open the hatch on the head!

When you open the hatch you can see the cockpit, and then press the Hello Kitty-shaped button to make the eyes yellow!
Even this button is Hello Kitty-shaped...it's a very intricate design!

Move the face so that it faces upwards, connect the included ribbon part and the red joint part and combine them with the legs to complete the transformation into underwater mode!
If you want to display it on a pedestal, you can use the included parts to ensure a stable display.

[Flight mode]
Finally, let's transform it into flight mode!
Lower the tail, remove the lid part on the back and insert the grey joint part.
The parts on the back lid are small, so be careful not to lose them!
Once you have assembled the included ribbon parts and red joint parts for flight mode, simply attach them to the joint parts on the back in their correct order!

QI'd like to know how and why Hello Kitty was commercialized in CHOGOKIN!
Terano: "CHOGOKIN Hello Kitty" is a product of the "CHOGOKIN" brand.40Anniversary timing (2014It was commercialized in 2013, but at the time there were derivative brands such as "SOUL OF CHOGOKIN," so the entire department was thinking about how to handle the original "CHOGOKIN" brand.
On the other hand, Bandai, including its predecessor Poppy,40It's rare for a brand to last for so many years, so I had in mind that as we continue the "CHOGOKIN" brand, I want to target a wider range of people.

We were thinking about what we could do with CHOGOKIN in a different direction than before, and when we came up with the idea of CHOGOKIN for women, we just happened to get Hello Kitty from Sanrio.40I heard it was an anniversary (laughs).

I knew I would be turned down, but when I approached the person in charge there about making it into a "CHOGOKIN" model, they were really enthusiastic and readily agreed, and that's how it came to be.

QWhen your first product, "CHOGOKIN Hello Kitty," was released, what kind of reaction did you get from what demographic?
Terano: Thanks to the generosity of Sanrio, the product was sold at Sanrio shops and was featured in the "Ichigo Shimbun" newspaper, and as a result, the purchase rate among women was unusually high for the "CHOGOKIN" series. I am very grateful that the product sold out immediately at Sanrio shops when it was released.

Also, a while after the product was released, we had a statue made using the "CHOGOKIN Hello Kitty" design.(Lol)
It is still on display at the Hello Kitty Japan DiverCity Tokyo Plaza store.

QThere are parts for water and air, but were there any other transformation parts that were considered?
TeranoThere were no other candidates.
The initial proposal envisaged a more complex mechanism geared towards men, which differed from the concept of the product that was actually sold.
However, after discussing the issue internally, we decided that there was no need to increase the number of movable parts so much, and decided to use simple part replacements to create a land, sea and air version.3I decided to express the mode.
It felt like that if I added wings to fly, I could express underwater behavior, and if I added fins to my feet and searchlight eyes, I could express underwater behavior!2Both modes are expressed by turning the neck upwards and combining ribbon parts.
The driving mode was just like, "If you attach tires to Hello Kitty's characteristic sitting pose, she can drive!"
--Indeed, even a beginner like me was able to transform it easily and didn't find it difficult!
The yellow eyes in the underwater mode are searchlights! So that's what the shiny mode is all about...!

Terano: It's been 10 years since it was released, so I hope that people who don't know the previous product will pick it up when they drop into the store. You'll understand when you actually hold it, but we made it heavy on purpose so that everyone will know that it's a "CHOGOKIN." It's a thick die-cast that you don't see often with regular CHOGOKIN.(Lol)The die-cast ratio of the entire product is quite high.

- When I first held it, I couldn't help but blurt out, "It's heavy!" (laughs) There was such a big gap between its appearance and its weight!
