It is said that the weapons development status of both the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation Forces at the end of the One Year War has not yet been properly documented. There are quite a few cases in which records were found in the records of combat units that were dispersed after the war. According to the materials that have been compiled so far, aircraft that have received development approval have been regarded as renewals of the main aircraft by changing the aircraft number, but in the Principality of Zeon, the aircraft was updated individually under the control of each area. It turns out. In addition to the development team of the manufacturer, the fact that they were carried out at the local factory was greatly influenced by the standardization of the mobile suit's joint design, which took Zeon's supply lines into consideration. In view of the lack of national power due to the outbreak of war, manufacturers in the home country were strictly ordered to standardize their designs in order to facilitate the replacement of parts damaged in battle. Of course, even if some changes were made in the manufacturing arsenal, this point was strictly controlled. This is probably due to Zeon's constitution.
In recent years, verifications have been conducted to confirm clear differences between mobile suits of the same model number before and after the integrated maintenance plan was issued. It was confirmed that branch numbers with specific uses were continuously approved for serotypes, B, C, and H. The main model, MS-07B, was a mobile suit for melee combat with an emphasis on fixed armament, but in the integrated maintenance plan, the sharing of externally carried armaments was reviewed. . At that time, the main machines were the MS-06 and MS-09 series, and the 07 model was also recommended to be reviewed to the normal manipulator specification due to the deployment situation on the front line.
In the re-evaluation of the 07B-type Gouf, which has more bullet-resistant composite armor than the 06-type Zaku and excellent maneuverability on the ground, some of the fixed armament was changed to external attachment. The heat rod on his right arm continues to be effective in close combat, and the diameter of the rod has been revised to a thinner one. This was made possible by improving the strength and heat resistance of the corresponding materials. The 5-barrel 75mm machine gun that was built into the left arm has been changed to an external mounting type, and it has been replaced with a 3-barrel 35mm machine gun. In addition, the external shield (the local unit called it the Gatling Shield) has undergone a reconstruction of the system components, making it possible to attach and detach the 75mm Gatling gun. This is an external weapon consisting only of the 07 type shield (redesigned and downsized). The bullet supply system also uses a drum magazine method to increase the number of bullets carried. In addition, the shield can be equipped with a heat sword inside. The bulletproofing of the external armor material has been reviewed, and although the overall silhouette is the same, the shape of each part is different from the prototype B type. The details of the number of units produced are unknown, but they were deployed mainly in areas of conflict with the Federation Forces mobile suit units. This development type is classified as MS-07B-3 in the machine number classification. It was the most sophisticated MS-07 in production, and had excellent overall performance as a ground combat mobile suit. The operation of each part can be adjusted according to the user, and it was possible to draw out even higher performance.
