SHFiguarts "Ultraman" series, which is the third year since the start of 2016.
Movable figures with various concepts have been made so far, but SHFiguarts' "Ultraman" series has the theme of "just like the real thing" and "moving freely".
At first glance, it's a simple theme, but it's also extremely difficult to meet both. However, the SHFiguarts "Ultraman" series continues to challenge day and night to satisfy the "Atarimae" for such users.
ULTRAMAN GEED PRIMITIVE appears in the latest TV series, "Ultraman Geed."
The detail is, Tsuburaya Productions has been shaped with the help of Dakushon modeling department LSS. LSS directly makes the "real suit" that appears in the video. So it's also a group of staff who are most familiar with what the real thing is.
This "S.H.Figuarts ULTRAMAN GEED PRIMITIVE" was also modeled based on the actual suit after in-depth interviews with LSS people. In other words, the details of S.H.Figuarts are as close to the real thing as possible. However, it is not enough to simply make it the same shape as the real thing. The figure was repeatedly modified to ensure that the "look" of the figure, which was reduced to a height of approximately 150 mm, would be authentic.
Let's see an example of the modification.
◎ Correction 1
This is a 3D design data of ULTRAMAN GEED PRIMITIVE suit.
Fixed by Bandai's internal and external staff. Even with the suit as it is, there are points where the sharpness is insufficient at the time of shrinking to the total height of about 150 mm. Correction points are placed in this stage.
◎ Correction 2
Data with modifications plus movable joints. Although there is no large scale modification, instructions are placed around the face and the neck.
It is because the face is a point to pay particular attention to.
◎ Correction 3
Correction to prototype outputting 3D data. Further modifications are made by being three-dimensional. Before and after the correction, volume increase of head and chest is conspicuous, here there is a point of commitment to "look good".
The "look" that "S.H.Figuarts ULTRAMAN GEED PRIMITIVE" aims for is on a different level from the pursuit of model-like proportions, such as a smaller head and longer legs. It is more important that they look like the real thing.
Ultra heroes that appeared in Showa works often do not have the perfect suit for the real-time shooting. Therefore, the stills and images taken at the shooting site at that time will be analyzed, verified, and modeled under the supervision of Tsuburaya Productions.
Also, as a feature of modeling at that time, the mask may not always be symmetric. Showa Ultra Hero of SHFiguarts is also reproduced as a feature of modeling.
◎ Correction 1
Modification of design staff for 3D data. An instruction was given to increase the volume of the head and torso.
Meanwhile, thighs and sune are specified to be thinner and shorter. Dare to take a long body, short your leg ... ... There is Jack's proportion pursuit point there.
◎ Correction 2
Correction for prototype. Correction points are concentrated on the face, such as eye position, ears and mouth sizes, and chin shape.
Emphasis is placed on reproducing the unique face of "Jack", which is different from the original Ultraman and Zoffy.
Showa's "SHFiguarts Ultra Monster Series" has a big feature in modeling that the previous two examples do not have. It is that the prototype is made by hand. Monsters require more delicacy than heroes. Therefore, even if it is made into a figure, it avoids digitization and uses the traditional hand prototype.
The prototype of the monster is first made immovable. Then, it is divided for each joint and reconstructed as SHFiguarts. At the same time, analysis and verification will be performed based on steel and images, and modeling will be brushed up. In addition, care is taken to allow each joint to move more than the suit in the image.
Even though Ultra Hero and Ultra monsters, categories and approaches are different, the theme of "moving freely" with "the real thing" does not change.
◎ Forming
Shot in molding. Finger of prototype teacher working under Mr. Mitsuhiko Hosokawa creates gudon.
Parts for movable joints are also produced by prototype craftsmen by lathe processing one by one.
Prototype
Twin tail and godon hand prototype. Wax clay called oil soil is used at this time.
Ignoring symmetry, it is similar to the Showa Ultra Hero in that it emphasizes the appearance shape to the last.
◎Supervised by Tsuburaya Productions
Supervision of modeling by Tsuburaya Productions. It uses steel and video as verification materials and is carefully checked.
After this supervision, the completeness of modeling will be strengthened.
◎ movable prototype
After modeling supervision, moving parts are put into the prototype which replaced the material with PU (polyurethane) cast.
Completion
Due to stereotyped shaping and joint movements, a twin tail that is similar to a steel picture is completed !!
It is an ultra monster that can only be created by the SHFiguarts brand, which is a fusion of tradition and the latest technology !!

Shooting of image cut was started in response to requests from hot people who wanted to take pictures to be mistaken as genuine.
The most important thing to watch out for is to take pictures that are ashamed of the great seniors' steel, scene photography. It is quite heavy pressure, it is still difficult to reflect the information of the time from a small amount of material and reflect it on shooting.
But in response, S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Series to Ultraman and the monsters, the series is so elaborately sculpted that when you set it up on a film set with lighting and props to match the material and pose it, you'd think you'd wandered into a film studio back in the day!
Easy to play, realistic and small S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Series! Why don't you all pick one up and try your hand at photography! You'll be lost in those days!

Dongguan City Viewing Toy Co., Ltd. Commentator Mr. Mitsuhiko Hosokawa General Manager of Prototype Development
With respect to prototype production, there is a reason why 3D CAD is not used, and fabrication is made.
In order to give "Dasa cool sagging" and "Yore feeling", it is necessary to catch and grasp the shape by clay modeling, and it is one thing that there are many parts that can not be confirmed with the data on the screen.
For it and the joint movable mechanism, working with the prototype is more clear and sure answer comes out. Regarding the moving parts, there may be accidental results beyond expectations, and we are doing work while actually holding the prototype.
Techniques and experiences as a craftworker are packed in the prototype of the entrance made by the prototypes by hand.
As far as the Ultra monster is concerned, it is a character that has been loved for many years to such an extent that I enter a young age at my age (47 years old). As a matter of course that the shape is a suit standard, it is NG that the movable dividing line breaks the shape is a high threshold.
However, SHFiguarts' Ultra Monster is required to pose as good as Ultraman.
Matching these conflicting points is the basic concept of SHFiguarts Ultra Monster.
And we believe that continuing this concept will result in boredom for purchasers, and we will decide to add one item for each product.
These include the movable twin tail ver. A.N.I.M.E., the details on the soles of the feet, and the ability to play around with Gudon.
Standing on the buyer's perspective, we are trying to develop products so that it will become a product that does not get tired while considering the flow of the series.
